Easy, healthy, and eco-friendly packed lunch photography

Are you tired of the same old lunch routine? I recently created this lunch photography series that hopefully give you inspiration for your next meal on-the-go.

Whether you’re heading to work, planning a picnic, packing for your child’s lunch, or squeezing in a gym session, these creative lunch options definitely trump your go-to-meal deal combo.

Outdoor picnic lunch

Nothing beats lunch in the sun, especially when you have a limited number of sunny days, like we do here! In this box, we have a classic ham and cheese sandwich, fresh cut vegetables, cubed cheddar cheese, more-ish salted pretzels and a side of sliced apples for dessert. Yes you could go for pre-packaged snacks for ease, but there’s something special about a handmade lunch, no?

Don’t forget to pack a picnic blanket and some cold drinks!

Pre-workout fuel

Proper nutrition is essential for an effective gym session. Instead of a store-bought protein bar, how about some granola and yogurt for a healthy alternative? I find it helpful to pre-portion out my granola into little boxes, so they’re easy to grab on my way out.

During busy shoot days, it’s easy to stuff something quick and unhealthy down for lunch. Although often I dread doing it, prepping a packed lunch ahead of time guarantees I’ll be having something healthy that’ll keep me going through the rest of the day. One of my favourite lunches is a bunch of fresh veggies, with homemade or store-bought hummus, boiled eggs and pretzels or some homemade bread.

I found this idea for sandwich kebabs on Pinterest (of course) and thought they were a cute alternative to regular sandwiches. To accompany the kebabs, we have popcorn, dairy lea cheese triangles, apples and peanut butter for dipping.
