This retro food photography series depicts the three main meals of the day – breakfast, lunch, and dinner – featuring some well-loved American brands. Inspired by the 1960s Americana, we chose retro props, pastel colors, and warm, homey lighting, this series offers a journey into a simpler time.

Beautiful food styling by Mandy Thompson and fittingly retro prop styling by Tamsin Weston. Thanks to Lilli Basham for assisting and Brick Studios for hosting us.

Breakfast

Soft morning light streams in, casting a golden glow on the breakfast table. A family gathers around to enjoy pancakes (with plenty of butter and maple syrup!), eggs, bacon, and freshly brewed coffee.

Lunch

What’s more American than a classic peanut butter sandwich?

Dinner

Mom’s culinary creativity shines as she presents a chicken burrito accompanied by nachos, guacamole, and salsa. This image encapsulates the heart of American family life, where dinner was not only about nourishment but also about embracing culinary exploration and togetherness.
