Often I find inspiration in the everyday things. And flowers in particular have been a subject of many still life artists over centuries. These flowers from my local florist became the muse for my latest floral still life photography series.
In this collection of images, I was inspired to reimagine flowers as species from another planet through light and composition to highlight the flowers’ distinct shapes, textures and details in a modern way. I did this through considered lighting and minimalist still life compositions. I used a pastel colour palette to evoke playfulness and joy, as well as give the images a dreamy aesthetic.
